Akkulink Connect — Privacy Policy

Akkulink Connect (fi.akkuauto.connectapp) is an internal diagnostics tool used by Akkuauto employees and partners to gather battery and vehicle data over a Bluetooth OBD adapter. It is not intended for the general public.

What data the app handles

• Vehicle and battery telemetry read from the OBDLink adapter over Bluetooth (CAN bus messages, identifiers, error frames). This data is collected from the vehicle, not from the user.
• App code (pairing identifier) entered by the employee to associate a session with a service ticket.
• Basic device and app info attached to uploaded logs (app version, OS version, timestamp).

What we do not collect

• No location data.
• No contact, calendar, photos, microphone, or files.
• No advertising identifiers, no analytics SDKs, no third-party trackers.
• No data is sold or shared with third parties for marketing.

Camera

The camera permission is used only to scan the QR code that contains an app code. The camera feed is processed on-device; no images are stored or transmitted.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth is used only to communicate with the OBDLink adapter connected to the target vehicle. The app does not scan for, profile, or connect to any other Bluetooth devices.

Where data is stored

Diagnostic logs uploaded from the app are stored in Amazon S3, region eu-central-1 (Frankfurt, EU). Amazon Web Services acts as a data processor on behalf of Akkuauto.

Retention

Diagnostic logs are retained for as long as needed for service, analysis, and warranty purposes,

Where the data we hold qualifies as personal data under EU data protection law, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of that data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Finland: tietosuoja.fi). Send requests to privacy@akkuauto.fi.

Children

Akkulink Connect is an internal workplace tool and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, communicated to employees through internal channels.
